I highlighted my hair all by myself! I used an at home kit and things turned out alright. It went a little brassy, but I toned it with some color..and it's ok. It was MUCH cheaper this way than having it done at a salon. I guess what matters is that I feel better about my hair.

A very belated Easter post.....

I'm finally getting around to blogging about our Easter. Things are crazy as usual here at the Roberts home, but we are taking one day at a time and somehow getting through it! Our Easter was full of surprises and twists, and we've been busy since....which is why this post is 2 weeks AFTER Easter! At least I'm finally getting around to it!
Look how cute they are in their Easter dresses!

Easter Sunday started out normal. The kids got up and found their Easter baskets-and they were so excited to see that the Easter bunny had come to visit them. The bunny spoiled them with snack cups, fun hair-care products, and CANDY. The day continued with going to church and then plans to see my family for a little bit, and then off to the Roberts house for dinner. Things didn't end up going that way, but we had a fun Easter regardless.

These are the Easter Pj's that Papa and Lala (dan's parents) gave the girls. I forgot to take pictures of the elaborate spread of Easter stuff on the dinner table, and forgot to pull my camera out at all on Easter Sunday at our Easter celebration. Papa and Lala had us all over for a nice dinner and Easter treats. The girls were spoiled as usual. They got some cute pj's, toys, books, and candy. We got to see cousin Mj and Josie too. Everything was going well until Hailey walked into the kitchen and puked-out of nowhere. That ended our Easter Sunday fun. We went home as soon as we cleaned up...and that was the end of it. Fun huh?!
We celebrated Easter with my family a week later. This is why. Beau ended up having his Appendix removed and was in the hospital for a few days. We are glad that he's feeling better and that everything went well. We went up to the hospital to visit him and my parents on Easter Sunday, we planned to have Easter together the following week with a big dinner, and Easter egg hunt, and some fun goodies for the kids to open. We had a good time-it was actually really nice to stretch the holiday out....the kids loved it!

Here are the kids enjoying their belated Easter egg hunt in my parents back yard. My camera battery died after these pictures, doesn't it always seem to happen like that? I have to remember to charge my battery before any holiday-because this ALWAYS happens to me!

A long...long...time ago....

(yes, I do look HUGE in this picture- 3rd baby....remember?)

I met Stephanie Shankula way back in Middle School. We were instant friends from the start. I don't know if it was because I finally met someone who could talk just as much as me...or just as fast as I could talk, but I'm glad we became friends. The friendship lasted all through Middle School and High School. Steph was a bridesmaid at my wedding, and we have continued our friendship to this day. We really don't see each other very much-but we do still talk. Steph just recently moved to the East coast (first the East-side...and now the East Coast-traitor), and will be missed-but surprisingly I think we will probably see each other just as often as we do now. Should we plan around Easter-time next year steph? That seems to be our thing! We did however get the chance to get together for dinner before she left. We met over at Desert Ridge at a place called BJ's...it's a restaurant and brewery. The food was good, and I'm sure that was the most eventful dinner Stephanie and her Hubby have had in a long time! Hailey had to go potty a million times....and was quite vocal with who was making the baskets on the game that was playing on the Tv screen overhead. Whitney wanted her mama to hold her (no surprise there) and chowed down on everything within her reach. It was a quick visit...and it's not like we could really sit and chat while there's basketball games on, while feeding kids, and getting up to run to the bathroom a zillion times-but it was good to see her before she left. We ended up taking a couple of pictures...and we both hated ourselves in all 3 of them! Some things NEVER change. I'm going to post all 3 of them anyway-sorry steph. Now all we have to do is get together with Brynn sometime. Wouldn't that be nice. Someday it will happen!

27 weeks pregnant!

Ok, I am cheating a little bit. I took these picture 1 day before I turned 27 weeks. I'm 27 weeks tomorrow and hanging in there. The belly is definitely growing. Still getting my weekly shots but they seem to be working. No major concerns with the pregnancy or baby so far-everything is looking good. He's getting more active and likes to flip around at nights. He also gets the hiccups quite regularly....when they last a long time it can drive you crazy. It's fun though...certain things about pregnancy. I like feeling him move inside of me, it still amazes me that a living human is growing inside of my body! It's also strange to think that I have 2 hearts and heart beats within me...and both a female and male reproductive system within me. It can get really weird when you think about it. The body is truly AMAZING! We are still narrowing down the names...and I think we have our top 3 picked. Who knows....maybe that 1 perfect name will come to us between now and when he's born and it will be something totally different! As for now we just take 1 day at a time. I'm still seeing the doctor every 2 weeks. I know I shouldn't be annoyed going that often-at least I know that I'm being well taken care of. It just gets harder each time taking both the kids....WAITING without a toy area for them to play in, knowing what to do with them while getting ultrasounds done, not to mention I have a harder time these days anyway because of what my body is going through. I know that all moms face these same problems when they're expecting another baby too-but EVERY 2 WEEKS seems to be so often!!! I feel like that's all I do...and I also have a nurse coming to the house EVERY Friday for the shots. Ok, that's all the complaining I'll do for now. I'm grateful that we have awesome insurance, and that the nurses come to my house, and that my doctor is being cautious. I guess I should look at the bright side. Enough of my ramblings. Here are some pictures.

Fun times at Torta Rica

A little over a week ago we were able to go out to Torta Rica and meet with the family. Dan had a few cousins in town from Las Vegas, so we all met for lunch. Papa, Lala, Stacie and Merritt, Mj, baby josie, and Dan's cousins Elle and Ryan were there with Ryan's wife. Dan took a later lunch so he could be a part of the celebration. We had a lot of fun, and it was so good to see some family members that we hadn't seen for a year. Poor little Whitney was just starting to get sick. She just wanted me to hold her the whole time, and ended up falling asleep while sitting on my lap. It was crazy and hectic-as most outings are.....but over-all we had a good time and ate YUMMY food.

Birthday celebration for ME!

What can I say? Yep, I'm a whole year older...yeah! Birthdays aren't a HUGE deal when you're a mom....your birthday's the same as any other day, but I did get the chance to do a few fun things. I went out to lunch with my parents and my girls to Babbo, and then over to the party supply store so my kids could get a free balloon. We had my family over that night for brownies topped with ice cream and hot fudge-yummy! That was that. We did end up celebrating on Sunday with my family, we had a yummy dinner of my choice...and then opened gifts.

The girls at lunch!

My parents with Hailey at lunch

Here are some of the gifts I received. My Mom made me a large Scrapbook of my life. It turned out really cute, and we all enjoyed getting some laughs at some of the different "cool styles" of clothes I wore.

I got the movie I've been waiting for-"TWILIGHT"!
I'm going to get Dan to watch it with me.....eventually!

A new pair of Shoes

A nice laptop desk to keep my legs from getting scorched from the heat of the computer, it works great for eating it bed too!

A MUCH needed backrest pillow - this will definitely come in handy with all of those late-night feedings when baby boy arrives! It also makes watching TV in bed much more comfortable.

That's about it for the whole birthday thing. We will get together with Dan's family sometime next week to celebrate.
Whitney ended up getting a stomach virus this week, so we haven't been able to really do much. Poor little thing, just fever and diarrhea. LOTS OF IT! We hope she will get better soon. The doctor said that this virus can last for up to 2 weeks! We're praying that it will be gone soon so she can enjoy the Easter weekend.
Hope you all have a Happy Easter!

Barbie Cake

Here's the latest cake creation from Kt's kitchen. My niece had a birthday on March 30th, and asked me to make her a cake. Her instructions were very specific: a white cake, with white frosting, and kind-of like a barbie. That's what I had to go by....and this is what I came up with! I did a funfetti cake, with strawberry icing filling, white frosting, and vanilla-flavored fondant. I found the Barbie at the 99 cents store, and made her dress from the fondant. After covering the cake and making the top of dress, I painted the gold accents around dress trim...and bow around waist along with the crown. I had my first try with luster/pearl dust-you can't see it in the pictures, but there's a silver sparkle shimmer in the fondant...and it gives it a shiny appearance too. Overall....I thought-"Not too bad for my first try at a doll cake," although there are a few things I would do differently next time around. Hailey said that she wants a Cinderella cake for her birthday-so I may just have another shot to improve on the doll cake. I had a lot of fun, and my niece loved it.

Bigger Belly

This is me and my little belly at 14 weeks along.....
This is me at almost 24 weeks along (last week)...
See the difference?
Sorry about the whole flash thing in the second picture, I wasn't thinking when I took it. My little belly ISN'T so little anymore! The answer is yes....I do look more tired, more unconfortable, and my roots have grown out. I need a whole makover. Not much will improve until a few months after out little guy is born...but I CAN improve on my hair. Baby is healthy and growing normally. Pregnancy is similar to my other one's...but I wasn't sick the first trimester. I'm doing the progesterone therapy with this baby-just like with Whitney, history of these painful butt shots show at least a 2 week improvment with preterm deliveries. We need to keep this baby in for a little longer, boys lungs take a little longer to develop than girls lungs do. We are hoping to be able to keep this one in long enough to be able to take him home with us the first time around. Oh how I'd love to take a baby home with me! He's kicking harder and moving more now, we still haven't decided on a name. We have a few more months and are looking forward to his arrival. No hospitalization or bedrest yet, and no trips to labor and delivery. We are hoping and praying that we don't have any complications for these last few months. Just a little update for all of you. We'll keep you posted on any news. Healthy and Happy-what else can we ask for?!
