Feb 2011 cakes

Another couple of cakes that I have done recently.
This one was for my cousin Brandie who came into town from San Diego to celebrate her Birthday. Her husband was just sent out to sea for the next 6-9 months, and she didn't want to be alone. Her and her daughter Isabel (almost 3) came into town for a week to play and have fun. Brandie requested a chocolate cake w/ Marshmallow frosting. She kept changing her mind from day to day, she's pregnant and is having a lot of cravings! This was the end result though, Chocolate cake with marshmallow frosting and chocolate shavings on top.

This cake was for the daughter of a friend. She is 6 yrs old and was very specific in what she wanted. She asked for a red cake, with chocolate filling, blue frosting, a white moon on top, with yellow stars. She also wanted some pajama sets on the sides, one of which had to be red....and 1 other one had to have purple on it. She had a pajama party with pizza and goodies and games....all the guests had to wear their pj's to the party. Hailey was invited and had a blast! They played games with flashlights and watched a Scooby Doo Camp movie. Needless to say, Nyah loved her cake and gasped with a smile when she saw it.

Update

I don't even know where to start!
Since the beginning of December....someone in our family has been sick! We had the whole stomach bug thing (minus Dan and Whit), we all had colds over Christmas, and between December 1st and February 1st we had all had pink eye! I don't think I have ever missed so many Sundays of church in a row!! Having sick kids is the worst! On top of that, being sick while taking care of sick kids is even worse. It wasn't like we all had it at the same time either...NO, that would make things easy for the mom. Each person got the bug or whatever it was about 5 days after the other person...it was just an ongoing sick house. Things have cleared up...I was the last to get pink eye and just finished with the drops today. My whole pink eye experience was made worse by the fact that the pharmacy gave me drops that I was allergic to. REAL FUN, putting something you're allergic to in your eyes 4 times a day. Great week. Last night Whit started fevering up....no other symptoms to date yet...but she feels yucky and has a fever. Today was mainly spent on trying to entertain Parker while holding Whitney. Good thing Parker likes to play with any kind of ball. He would throw it to me while I was sitting on the couch with whit....then I would throw it to the other side of the room and he would "fetch" it. Like a dog. He liked it, and that way I was pleasing both of my kids! SERIOUSLY.....can't we all just be healthy for longer than a week! GEEZ!
On a happier note: Dan starts his LAST set of classes this coming week. Each class is 6 weeks....so he is almost done!!! Can't wait to have him home more often.
Tonight Hailey had a school Father/Daughter dance. She was so excited to go. She wanted to dress-up in a nice dress and everything. They had a good time, and Daddy even got her a flower and a balloon to help celebrate their special date. I am so happy they could have some special time together. That's important.
That's about it for now.
