Pull-Ups

Today was a lazy day on our part. I had some pregnancy complications this past weekend and had to be on complete bedrest for a few days. Dan was great at being Mr. Mom. Long story short-my parents offered to do my weekly grocery shopping for me to help me out. I gave them my list..ect...ect, it was great to just have it done and not have to venture out with both girls and a weeks worth of food in 1 cart. When they brought the groceries back to my house I noticed the package of pull-ups was different from the one's I usually buy. My parents asked me if they got the wrong one or the wrong size. I replied, " No, these are just the BOY pull-up pants...it's no big deal, they just have Cars on them instead of the Princesses." My parents apoligized ,( even though there was NO need to-they just did my grocery shopping) and to ease the moment I thought I'd show Hailey how neat these new pull-ups were. I showed her the package and said, " Look Hailey, you have Cars on your pull-ups....neat huh?" She then replied, (after hearing the whole conversation of how they were boy diapers) "I'm going to be a big boy!" We all had a good laugh.

Baby Tag

1. Where were you when you first found out you were pregnant?
Hailey- In our guest bathroom waiting for the results. Dan was in the other room, so when I read the results I thought they were wrong...so I ran into our bedroom and showed him, and then we both hugged.
Whitney-I took a test in my bathroom, wrapped the positive test in a box, and when Dan got home I gave it to him and told him that I bought him something at Walmart. He opened it, and confused...just looked at me and said "Really"?
Baby in my belly-I had a feeling even though I wasn't late yet-so I took a test and called Dan on the phone and told him.
2. Who was with you? Already answered that one.
3. What was your first reaction? Excited all 3 times!
4.What was your husband's reaction? He was excited too, more surprised for Whitney's and for the new baby....but excited for all 3 too!
5. Who was the first person you told?
Hailey- My boss, I was saving the news for a x-mas present for family, but I had to tell my boss because I had to cut down a little bit on some massages.
Whitney-My parents, then called Dan's parents a few minutes later.
New baby- My mom...and then a Thanksgiving surprise for everyone else.
6. Were the pregnancies planned? Uh...I couldn't get pregnant any other way! Yes, they were planned, surgeries to get the 2 girls, and no surgery to get prego with the new baby.
7. Was everyone happy for you? YES!!!
8. What was the sex? Girl both times, and we'll find out in 3 weeks what this one is!!!
9. What was the nursery theme/colors? We did a neutral nursery so we could keep it the same for either a boy or girl. Navy blue, Light blue, and yellow stars with white furniture.

10. Did anyone throw a shower for you? Yes, I actually had 3 showers. One was Pre-baby in Utah with my family when I was 5 months pregnant. The other 2 were after Hailey was born: given by a family friend ( Seiko) and one for friends in the ward given by a few of my friends. Thanks!

11. Did you get any outfits you wouldn't use? Yes, but only a few I think- I got TONS of clothes...and Hailey ( and whitney) was set for the 1st year and then some!
12. How much weight did you gain?
Hailey-14 pounds ( she was 6 weeks early)
Whitney-20 pounds ( she was 4 weeks early)

13. Did you get stretch marks? Unfortunatley yes. I got 3 small ones with each kid on the sides of my waist-they're not really visible anymore though!!
14. Did you crave anything crazy? I wouldn't say it was anything crazy.....
Hailey-raspberries, cola, and steak.
Whitney- bread, cola
New baby- berries taste good, so does cola, but most things DON'T sound good to me...so I just force myself to eat.
15. Who or what got on your nerves the most? Being sick-or feeling sick. With both of the girls I was really sick to my stomach the first trimester-it was awful! With Hailey I threw-up like 3 times a day....I've never seen so many public bathrooms before!! With Whitney I didn't throw-up as much, but I felt sick ALL the time for the first 3 months.
With this one I haven't felt as sick ( thank goodness) and have only thrown-up 2 times....that's a miracle in my pregnancy book!!!! That's probably what bugged me the most about being pregnant.
16. Where were you when you went into labor?
Hailey....which time? Originally at work, I was contracting like I usually do...but I started feeling sick too-so I thought I'd go to the hospital just in case. I was 29 weeks and in full labor, 80% effaced and dialated to a 4-5. They kept me in the hospital for 4 weeks and then let me finally have her. I went into acitve labor 2 other times in that 4 week period...but after MANY hours, they were able to stop it.
Whitney-I did the progesterone therapy with whit. I contracted throughout most of the pregnancy, but never dialated. I was scheduled to be induced ate 36 weeks due to my placenta shutting down. I called the hospital to come in, but they said they were full. I went to sleep and woke up about 2 hours later in labor on my own. I went in and contracted for 4 hours...and then stopped-false alarm. My doctor was on-call and since we had to get the baby out anyway, he just had me wait a few hours for a room. I had her that day.
17. Did you have any complications? Yes, all explained above!
18. Did your water break? The doctor broke mine for me.
19. Who drove you to the hospital?
With Hailey-my parents
With Whitney-Dan
20. Did you go early or late? EARLY!!!!!
21. Who was in the room? Other than the doctor and nurses...Dan, my mom, my mother-in law for both. With Hailey my grandma was in town so she was in the room. With Whit my Aunt was in town and she was in the room too.
22. Did you video tape it? No, but I kind of wish I did. At least video taped before and after, just to remember everything. I'll have to do that with the new baby.
23. Did you have any pain medication? YES!! Epidural baby!! I contract and have pain most of the pregnancy.....by the time I have my babies-I don't want to feel a thing!!
24. Did you have a c-section or natural? I pushed them both out of me!!!
25. What was your reaction to the birth?
Hailey-relived that she was here and safe, and that her lungs were fairly mature. Excited that she was born, but more excited to get out of that labor and delivery room that was my home for a month!
Whitney-happy, excited, and I actually cried with her birth...it was just a little more emotional.
26. How big was the baby?
Hailey- 4 lbs. 13 oz, 18 inches long
Whitney-5 lbs. 5 oz, 18 1/4 inches long
27. What was the baby's full name?
Hailey Faith Roberts
Whitney Grace Roberts
28. Did your husband cry? Not that I saw of....he could have I guess....I didn't even know he cut the cord until I asked him. I'll have to ask!
29. When is the next one coming? Already working on that....baby is due in July...so probably near the end of June sometime!
30. If you could, would you do it all over again? Yep, obviously......I had more than 1 and am pregnant again-we'll probably do it again after this one too!
Ok, now I tag these people: Brandie, Brynn, Brooke, Julie, Mindy, Amber, Stacie, Krissy

Update

I went to the doctors today-I'm now 14 weeks along! This pregnancy seems to be going by so fast! I just made my next appointment for February 10th, and that's the day we get to find out what we are having!!!! I'm so excited to find out! Only 3 weeks to go, and then we know-I can't wait! Everything else seems to be fine, no contractions ( not yet at least) and the baby seems to be fine with a healthy heartbeat. I haven't gained weight yet ( not that that means ANYTHING because I always do at some point), I actually lost some more this month-weird huh? I'm not sick or anything, and I'm eating.....so I'll just keep eating and see what happens! I'm a little tired still, but I don't know if that's pregnancy or being a stay-at-home mom of 2 active girls!!! I'm looking forward to the second trimester...less bathroom trips and more energy. Here's looking forward to an easier pregnancy! Here are some pictures of my little growing belly.

Kids are so funny!

I know I haven't been good about blogging lately-I need to start being better and at least do it once a week or so. Hailey has been growing up so fast lately. Sometimes you don't know how fast your kids are growing until they say something "adult" to remind you that they do understand what you are talking about. A couple of days ago we went out to dinner with my husbands side of the family, we met at a restaurant out in the Scottsdale area....which means that it took us a little over an hour to get there. We had a good time and the girls had a blast playing around and looking at the statues. Dan had to leave dinner early so he could get over to the church to get a few things done-so bedtime was ALL mine that night! We drove home and I got Hailey ready for bed and read her 3 books....we then continued with the nightly ritual of singing some songs together before I was planning to leave her room. In the middle of singing Hailey interrupted me and said, " Mom, it's too late....look at the clock. It's time for me to close my eyes and go night-night." I wasn't quite sure how to react! I kissed her goodnight and left her room shutting the door behind me. I guess she was really tired and annoyed at the fact that I kept singing to her. Sometimes she does know what's best for her. Go figure. I just thought that it was so funny and wanted to make sure and record it so I remember correctly. KIDS ARE FUNNY!!!

Another Baby is on the way!

Yep, it's true....we're expecting again. We are very excited and can't wait to see what we are having. Due date is July 18th.....though I'm sure I'll be having it in June sometime. Hailey is excited about the baby in mommy's belly, and whitney has NO idea what's going on! Hailey wants another sister, dan doesn't seem to mind either way, and I'm hoping for a boy this time around. I guess we'll see in another 6 weeks or so. We're grateful for the new arrival and for once we were able to get pregnant without any surgeries!!! YEAH!! We'll make sure to keep you all posted!!
