Here are some more pictures of the cake, I'm glad it turned out. It tasted yummy too; it was chocolate cake, with chocolate ganache filling, buttercream frosting, with marshmallow fondant-flavored with almond extract. It took a lot of time, but the end result pleased me. My first attempt with a tiered/stacked cake and fondant bow.

A Night Out

My mom celebrated her birthday on Friday, September 26th. As her gift, Dan and I took her and my Dad out for a nice dinner. We went to Capital Grille in Scottsdale, the food was great and dessert was yummy! We had a great time making fun birthday memories. Hope you had a great time mom! We love you, Happy Birthday!

New Calling.

Well, I was right about one thing....I had a calling by sunday! I am now the 2nd counselor in the Primary presidency. They didn't give me much time to recover, but I'm excited to be back with all of the little kids. I was primary chorister a year ago, right before I got put into Young Womens; so I know a little bit about the way things work. I'll keep you all posted on my exciting adventures in primary.

This is Uno. He was our baby for a few years before we had Hailey. We had Uno in our home until I was pregnant with Whitney, so up until April of 2007. We love him and miss him, but know that it was the right decision to give him a home where he could have all the attention that he needed. We're so lucky to have found someone who really wanted a cat, and as far as we know..they got him a playmate and are enjoying him. We have many fun memories of him, this was his favorite position to lay in...yep, belly up! He was a very lively and curious cat, not lazy at all...at times he reminded us more of a dog because of all the personality he possessed. Isn't he cute.

Having some fun!

Just a few pictures I've taken in the last week. We've been eating lots of yummy food, playing with our homemade castle/house out of a box, and taking pictures of us just looking pretty! Other than that, nothing really new here, just having fun and waiting for the premiere of HEROES!! We love that show and are excited for its return. it's about time! We went to La Torta Rica with some friends, they enjoyed the food and plan to go back again. Hev and Danaca moved to Utah this week, so it was our last opportunity to spend time with them. We miss them already. My friend Jaymie and her mom came with us too, what a cute little duo, Jaymie's a lot of fun...and her mom is so cute, such a soft-spoken woman, I enjoyed getting to know her. I now know where Jaymie gets her kindness from....her mom is full of it! We had fun and then continued into a busy weekend. Danaca, Jaymie and me were all released from the YW presidency, I will miss spending time with these two. All and all, things are good, here's hoping to enjoy not having a calling for a minute! (I'm sure I'll be called to something by Sunday!)

Whitney's 1st Birthday Party!

We finally had a party for Whitney, we are so glad we waited until she was better. Thank you to all of our family for changing your plans so you were able to come and celebrate with us. As usual, whit made a haul and got tons of stuff. Clothes, a cell phone, a glow-worm, a rocking horse, a play camera, an activity box, a vibrating teething ring, and much more. We had cake and ice cream and opened gifts, all the kids loved helping rip open the wrapping paper. We had a good time. Happy Birthday Whitney!

Sick little Whit

Ok, whitney had her birthday on wed. sept. 3rd, and then was sick the next day! We had to cancel her birthday party and reschedule it for later....that's why I haven't posted any pictures yet. I'll get around to posting a new blog when we've taken pictures at her party. Whitney's doing well now.

Whitney Grace

Today, September 3rd 2008 is Whitney's first birthday. I look back on the past year and think of how much our little family has changed. At times it seems that the year went by SO quickly...and at other times.....it does feel like a whole year has passed by. Whitney was actually born on Labor Day of 2007, which will be a fun story to tell her about someday, she weighed a WHOPPING 5lbs. 5oz. and was 18 1/4 inches long. She was 4 weeks early and needed some eating and breathing support for the first week of her life, the NICU was her home for that week. She learned to breathe and eat on her own...and a week later we took her home for good-we were so excited to be able to hold her without any monitors and cords attached to her body, a healthy baby girl was now in our possession! She has grown so much in the past year...now weighing around 23-24 pounds and developing as any normal 1 year old would. WE are blessed to have her in our home and in our lives. Hailey is so excited to have a playmate, and they just love each other and play together all day long. We are grateful for you Whit....and are excited that you have reached your first birthday, and are looking forward to many more birthdays with you! We love you WHit!
